After dabbling briefly in traditional quilting, Heidi Zielinski began seriously creating stitched textile art in 2007, and shortly thereafter decided to pursue art as a business, Fiber Into Art by Heidi.  Heidi creates her art for show and sale from her small studio in Stevensville, Montana in the Bitterroot Valley of Western Montana.  Heidi exhibits in various galleries regionally and has had eight solo gallery exhibitions.  She has had work in many juried national, regional and local quilt and fiber shows where she had won numerous awards, and her work is in many private collections across the country.  She has written and had published several magazine articles and recently began teaching.  As a member/founder of the Montana Bricolage Artists her work has been exhibited in group exhibitions that have traveled to museums and other venues in Montana, Orgeon and Utah.  Inspired by nature and by the touch of the cloth, she is a prolific artist creating mostly non-representational and abstract art using various surface design techniques including painting, dyeing, stamping, felting, and stenciling, and often incorporating beading as an integral part of the work.
